• Participate in product development process, select vendors and translate business requirements into part/material specifications

• Selection of strategic vendors for Dorel’s Car Seat product line
• Negotiate price, quality and deliver conditions with vendors
• Tap into suppliers R&D process and product set to optimise Dorel’s product development and bring innovative solutions/idea to the development teams
• Maintain a optimal selection of suppliers with whom Dorel can adopt a true "partnership sourcing" approach to minimise cost and increase profit throughout the supply chain
• Provide purchasing directions to the operational buyers
• Secure the short and long term goals of costing, quality and delivery security with the selected suppliers
• Initiate and support initiatives to standardise material and components across the various product lines in order to reduce complexity and reduce cost
• Monitor and report supplier performance to compliment operational objectives on cost, quality, delivery and inventory
